Bottling Notes:
At the heart of MacNair’s Boutique House of Spirits lies a meticulous attention to detail.
Taking inspiration from MacNair’s discovery of the delights of a dram beside a smoky peat fireplace, Master Blender Billy Walker has drawn upon his half century’s experience in blending to develop a recipe fit for a traditional Scottish toast to long life; “Lang may yer lum reek”.
Billy has sourced the finest vintage Speyside and Islay Single Malts, then blended with aged GlenAllachie, in pursuit of the perfect balance between peat and rich, fruity character. The spirit was laid to rest in premium Spanish sherry casks, French oak, and virgin oak casks. As time passes, the flavours marry and extract additional depth and sophistication from the wood. Our 21-year-old is presented at a higher ABV of 48%, natural colour and non chill filtered.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Subtle peat smoke, dark chocolate shavings, runny honey and vanilla fudge.
Palate: Old leather, cedar wood and gentle undertones of peat, alongside oodles of coca, vanilla pods and sweet spices.
